A Day With At Home
Fixed moments give children something to hold on to, and calm. Below you can see what a typical day looks like, always with room for your child's own rhythm and needs.
The daily routine
A fixed order gives children safety. They know what is coming, and within that they can feel free.
Arrival and the walk to school
From eight o'clock the children get a warm welcome. We walk to school together: the after-school children are dropped off and the little ones enjoy the fresh morning air and the quiet streets.
Moving & outdoorsFruit together
Back from school it is time for a pleasant fruit moment at the table. Cutting, serving and tasting together. Small hands like to help, and they are welcome to.
Together & eatingFree play, an activity or a nap
We make music, do a creative activity, or the children play freely. Babies and toddlers who are ready sleep now. Activities follow whatever is occupying the children that day.
Discovering & creatingLunch together
Sitting down together. The children help: making sandwiches, pouring drinks. Afterwards there is room to rest or sleep for anyone who needs it.
Together & eatingRest and nap time
Babies and toddlers sleep to their own rhythm. Older children read a book, do a puzzle or play quietly. A moment to recharge, each in their own way.
Rest & sleepWalk to school
We walk to school together to pick up the BSO children.
Moving & outdoorsVegetables
Back from school we eat vegetables together at the table.
Together & eatingAfternoon activity
Playing outside in the garden, a trip to the playground or an activity indoors, following what the children need after the rest.
Moving & outdoorsDinner and pick-up time
A short chat about how the day went. That way you always know what happened, and your child can round the day off well. From 17:30 we eat a healthy dinner together, so everyone can be picked up again before 18:00.
Handover & closingFlexible for every child: the times above are a guide, not a fixed schedule. Babies and young children follow their own daily and sleeping rhythm. I always adapt the routine to what each child needs at that moment.
What always comes with it
Besides the fixed moments there are things that come back every day: big and small, but all of them important.
Joining in with real tasks: watering the plants, helping in the kitchen, laying the table.
Reading aloud, singing and telling stories: language as play, different every day.
Creative materials that invite discovery: paint, clay, paper, building blocks.
Being outside, even when the weather is not perfect. Fresh air is part of every day.
Daily contact with parents, so you always know how the day went.
Children learning from each other: younger and older together in one small, familiar group.
